Bronze Figure, signed: S.Zélikson

Year: 1925
Category: Decoration

Expressive bronze sculpture of a nude female figure in a forward-leaning, downward-gazing pose, executed with refined anatomical modelling. The dark patina and flat oval base lend the figure a classical gravitas. Bronze nudes of this type were prized collector's objects in the interwar period, reflecting the academic realism that merged with modern formal principles in Art Déco sculpture. Signed: Serge Zelikson(1890-1966)
